NOT GUILTY BY REASON OF INSANITY: Malice Murder

A teenager with schizophrenia suffered from delusions that his mother was poisoning him. Kilgore & Rodriguez worked with numerous psychologists and psychiatrists to explain how the killing of his mother resulted from symptoms of schizophrenia and not merely a malignant heart. The jury returned a verdict of NOT GUILTY BY REASON OF INSANITY on malice murder, which allowed the judge to commit the young man to a state mental hospital for the treatment he needs.
